The primary type of services a service provider provides in the MASAI context are travel-related services like transporting individuals from location A to B or similar. On a more operational level, the service provider runs IT systems that provide secondary services necessary to run the business, for example, services for timetable information, booking, ticketing etc. In the following sections, the term ‘service’ refers to the latter, operational definition.
A service contains functions that are encapsulated in a module with standardised input and output data. Examples of a service may be: “Book a Public Transport ticket in Nice area”, “Load a Public Transport ticket in Nice area on a secure element”
